Plain Township Swim and Dive Team

New Albany, Ohio

                                        PTAC Gators

The swim team was started in 2003 and is a fun summer organization for children age 5 up to the age of 18. Anyone can be on the swim & dive team if they can swim one length of the pool without stopping or touching the bottom. There are also COSA meets for beginning swimmers who are not quite ready for regular meets. The COSA swimmers will practice with the rest of the team; however, their meets are on Saturday instead of Wednesday.

The swim team is a member of the Greater Columbus Swim League (GCSL), which is made up of 8 local swim teams (Delaware, Gahanna, Highlands Park, Northwest, Westerville JC, Worthington Red, Worthington Blue, and Plain Township). Participants MUST be a member of PTAC as required by the league. The swim team is run by a board of volunteer parents in conjunction with Plain Township, which provides the facility and supports the team. Parents are asked to volunteer their time during swim meets.

Gator Mail Folders

As we near the end of the season, don't forget to empty your gator mail folders.  Ribbons earned at meets, pictures, t-shirts & swim caps that have not been picked up are already in your folder.  After the banquet we will put in items from the banquet for those who cannot attend.  The mail folders will remain at the front desk until the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.  After that they are put in storage for the winter.

Hazardous Weather Policy for Home Swim Meets

In the case of hazardous weather affecting New Albany during a home swim meet the following rules will apply:
  • There will be a 30 minute delay for any thunder or lightning in the area. Every time thunder or lightning occurs the 30 minute clock restarts.
  • Swimmers and families may be asked to clear the pool deck during hazardous weather. Pool management will make this determination.
  • If instructed to clear the pool deck, go to your vehicle and await further instruction from the pool staff and Gator coaches.
  • If the delays go beyond 8:00 pm, and the weather is not clearing, then the meet may be cancelled.
